Women and Hair Loss: The Shocking Truth

When most people think of hereditary hair loss, they think of male-pattern baldness, which is the most frequent type. This is the sort of hair loss that moms pass down to their kids genetically. The majority of people who suffer from this form of hair loss are men, however, the gene can also cause hair loss in women.

While genetic baldness in men is identified by a receding hairline or balding crown, genetic hair loss in women is a bit different

In most cases, a woman will not lose her hair in spots only but will thin out evenly throughout the head. Sometimes, this thinning can be quite severe and result in the woman having to wear a wig to cover up her thinning tresses. While female hair loss almost never results in a completely bald head, it can be extreme enough to expose the scalp quite plainly.

There are a few hair loss treatment alternatives available to women who are experiencing this sort of hair loss. Shampoos, conditioners, and topical treatments like Rogaine for women, encourage hair growth and prevent future hair loss; vitamin supplements; and stimulatory therapies like massage and infrared therapy are among them. Topical therapies are the most effective of all hair loss remedies. They are the most costly, but they deliver the best results.

Loss of hair caused by chemical processes

After undergoing a harsh chemical technique such as a perm or color, you may have substantial hair loss, regardless of how healthy and strong your hair is now. While virtually all chemical hair fallout is caused by operator mistakes, chemical treatments performed on your hair at home increase the chances of it happening. I’ve observed many cases of female hair loss in clients who bleached their hair at home, colored it, and then returned to the salon for another bleaching. Because the stylist was unaware of the client’s history, he employed too harsh a chemical, resulting in hair loss.

Since most of these cases do not result in complete hair loss, the hair loss treatment options include protein treatments and other conditioning treatments to strengthen the remaining hair; a good hair cut that will remove most of the damage; and a gentle hair-care routine that will minimize further hair loss due to breakage. You should also refrain from using thermal styling tools and undergoing any further chemical procedures until the hair is completely grown out.

Hair loss due to stress

Severe stress can result in a large amount of hair loss at once. Women who are under a lot of stress might have female hair loss, which appears as thinning all over the head or in places termed alopecia areata. Alopecia areata, which is defined as “hair loss in places or regions,” can cause bald circular patches on one or more parts of the scalp. While hair loss of this nature is concerning, it is not permanent. Most people who suffer from this form of hair loss regain all of their hair after the stress is eliminated.

In most cases, the hair loss treatment for stress-related hair loss is minimal. After ruling out other causes of hair loss, your doctor will likely recommend changes in your diet or ideas to help alleviate your stress. Keep in mind that it can take months for your hair to grow back even after the stressors have been eliminated.

Loss of hair as a result of illness

Hair loss can occur as a result of any long-term disease or surgery. Medications used to treat some disorders might make your hair brittle, causing it to break or fall out completely. Chemotherapy-induced hair loss is the most easily recognizable kind of hair loss. In the majority of instances, hair loss is total and affects every part of the body.

While there is little that can be done to prevent this type of hair loss or promote growth during illness, surgery, or chemotherapy treatments, this type of female hair loss is also temporary. In most cases, full recovery of hair is made after the illness is over.

After the illness, you may boost hair growth by having frequent haircuts and using improved shampoos and conditioners. Supplementing with vitamins may also be effective.

Hair loss in women is more prevalent than we may assume, as you may have thought. Many people may be suffering hair loss and disregard it as a normal part of growing older. Many of these ladies do not seek the appropriate hair loss therapy that would allow them to preserve their existing hair and sprout new hair. So, if you’re losing your hair, don’t assume it’s merely because you’re getting older. You might be able to do anything to prevent your hair from clogging your drain.
